TSC Simulation
My role at TSC Simulation was incredibly varied, but centred heavily on being a Technical Artist and Software Engineer.
I joined in 2017, as a 3D Artist, but quickly moved over to the software engineering / technical art side of production, creating Editor scripts and tools for artists to ease their models and assets into Unity more easily.
Since around 2024, I was slowly moved up to Project Lead, and have worked on 2 major client projects, and multiple internal "generic" products that TSC sells "off the shelf".
Below are just a few examples of the projects I have worked on and led during my time at TSC.
Green Hydrogen Production
The Green Hydrogen Production simulation I worked on was the first internal production I was officially project lead on.
Although I had headed projects for clients previously, managing an internal development was slightly different in that I needed to define scope and deadlines, rather than client budget, which was an interesting challenge.
Equipment Explorer
This was the first true multi-platform project I worked on. Like with the Green Hydrogen Production model, I was again Project Lead.
The Equipment Explorer is compatible with PC, VR/XR headsets including Meta Quest 2/3, and on the web via AWS.
This project allowed me to grasp programming for both keyboard and mouse, but also VR controllers in a reusable and stable manner.
Centrifugal Compressor
The Centrifugal Compressor was one of the first large-scale models I worked on at TSC.
I worked mainly as a 3D Artist on this project, designing the models and environment to emphasise training benefit (making key points of interest accessible).
