As one of my oldest completed projects, the Tarantula Sentry Gun functioned as my first real exploration into the normal mapping process; a process that up until this project, I hadn't spent much time learning.

It was also my first attempt at hand painting an asset, applying all the edge wear by hand to create a more realistic look.

​

I would say this project was a success because through it I gained valuable knowledge of essential 3D modelling processes that I still use today where necessary.
